The original purpose of the Shadbush Club was to combine enjoyable intellectual activities with worthwhile participation in the community affairs of Edinboro. For that reason, the title "Shadbush" was selected, since the flowering bush is native to the locality and is commonly known as the Service Bush. The Club hopes to follow in that name.
