Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department has provided the Edinboro community with firefighting, land and water rescue, and EMS services since 1936. The department serves over 92 square miles including the borough of Edinboro, Washington township, and portions of Elk Creek, Cussewago, Venango, and Interstate 79. The department covers on average 1,000 calls annually. Other services that the department offers are: public education, non-emergency public assistance, and community wide event support.
